Saudi Arabia signed its participation contract for Expo Belgrade 2027 in April 2026, marking what its Commissioner General called the transition from planning into the full execution phase. The participation is led by Rakan Tarabzoni, Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning for International Economic Affairs and the Kingdom's Commissioner General for Expo Belgrade 2027.
The Kingdom's stated vision focuses on showcasing play as a pathway to opportunity, and the role of culture, sport and creative industries in empowering individuals and building thriving communities — themes closely aligned with Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia says it will work with the Expo organizer and participating countries to deliver a pavilion and programme fostering collaboration, cultural exchange and people-to-people engagement throughout the Expo. National pavilions sit in the International Participant Area of the 25-hectare Expo site at Surčin, in the western part of Belgrade — the zone that becomes the city's new Belgrade Fair after the event. The site is about 5 km from Nikola Tesla Airport and roughly 13.5 km southwest of central Belgrade (official planning figures), so if you fly in, you land closer to the Expo grounds than to town. Exact positions within the zones haven't been published yet; we'll add the location when the site plan lands.
