Expo 2027 National Days: dates announced so far

Every participating country at Expo 2027 Belgrade can hold a National Day — its own day on the site, with its culture, food and performances. The organiser has not published the schedule saying which country falls on which date. Some countries have announced their own. This is what we have been able to document.

The organiser has published no country-to-date schedule, and countries announce on their own timetables, often through a ministry rather than the Expo. Türkiye — 19 May 2027 Planned

Announced by: Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade (national ministry)
What this establishes: That 19 May 2027 is the date Türkiye plans for its Expo National Day.
What it does not establish: Programme times, venue, performers, whether events are open to general Expo visitors, or whether any part requires a separate reservation. The notice also anticipates activity on other significant days and weeks, so this is not necessarily Türkiye's only dated programme.

19 May is also a Turkish public holiday — Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day — marking Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's landing at Samsun on 19 May 1919, which began the War of Independence. For an Expo themed "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All", a day already dedicated to youth and sport is a striking fit. Nothing published explains whether that shaped the choice, and it should not be read as a rule: countries do not systematically pick their domestic national day.

Announced, but without a date

What a National Day actually is

Worth understanding before you plan a trip around one.

A National Day is a day given over to one participating country, which uses its pavilion and the Expo's stages to present its culture, cuisine, music and innovation. Independent guides describe them as among the most atmospheric days to visit. The Participants FAQ describes countries selecting a day, so the dates come from the countries as much as from the organiser.

Two things follow that matter for planning. First, a National Day is a container for a programme: knowing the date tells you nothing by itself about times, venues, whether events are open to all Expo visitors, or whether anything needs a separate booking. Second — and this catches people out — an Expo National Day is not the same thing as that country's national holiday, and you cannot work one out from the other. At Expo 2025 Osaka the Netherlands took 21 May (Dutch King's Day is 27 April) and Sweden took 14 May (Sweden's National Day is 6 June).

When to expect the rest

Based on how the last Expo did it — which is context, not a forecast.

At Expo 2025 Osaka the organiser released National Day and Special Day dates in batches rather than all at once. A release on 20 June 2024 added 31 countries to an earlier April 2024 batch, bringing the published total to 131 countries and four international organisations — roughly ten months before that Expo opened on 13 April 2025.

Read that as precedent, not prediction. This describes how a different Expo published its schedule. It does not establish when Expo 2027 Belgrade, or any individual country, will announce. In the meantime, your own country's Expo office or the relevant ministry is often ahead of the organiser — that is where the one date below came from. Osaka's announcement.

A date being announced by a national authority does not make it final. Where a source says "planned", we say planned.
An Expo National Day is a container for a programme. Knowing the date tells you nothing by itself about times, access or whether a reservation is needed.
Coverage will be uneven: well-resourced delegations announce earlier and more publicly. A country missing from this list has not necessarily done less.
